'The body means nothing, only the soul is important.' The Hare Krishna monks at the Soho Square in London strongly believe in the 5000 year old word of wisdom and therefore in the overcoming of a materialistic Western world. Alexey, a 24 year old Russian monk is a Krishna devotee since five years. As a matter of being lost in a capitalistic world, he turned to the Krishna Society and is now an active member leading the Russian lectures and prayers. The monks and the whole staff of the temple are fully dependant on donations through bookselling. Their food is produced at a Krishna farm sponsored by George Harrison outside of London and meals are prepared in a small restaurants below the temple. In return of free board and lodging, the monks are requested to devote their lives to studies and prayer to Krishna.
